Amanda Twiss

President and CEO

Acknowledged as an authority in the field of healthcare data intelligence, Amanda Twiss is the President and CEO of Dentra, and its parent company, OCS, Inc. She brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare information and outcomes analysis, and is a leading voice in the areas of statistical outcomes, provider profiling, and benchmarking. Her extensive knowledge, deep understanding, and public speaking persona have resulted in numerous national speaking engagements and appearances. She is also a published author of industry articles and whitepapers on healthcare information topics and a contributing author to several textbooks.

Prior to OCS, Amanda was a founder of HBSI (subsequently Solucient) and an entrepreneurial pioneer in hospital informatics and physician profiling.

Amanda is an Advisory Board member for The Entrepreneurship Center of the Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University. She is also a founding member of the Data Advisory Committee for the National Association of Homecare.

Troy Pladson

General Manager

Troy Pladson has more than 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, consulting, strategy, and business development for technology companies. His responsibilities at OCS include identifying and driving entry into new markets. His current role includes overall management of the day-to-day operations of Dentra.

Prior to joining OCS, he was Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development for InterSAN, Inc., and was responsible for its sale to Finisar. Before joining InterSAN, he was Vice President of Business Development and Sales Operations for SupportSoft, Inc. Prior to SupportSoft, Troy spent several years at IBM where his last position was Director of Strategy, Marketing, and Business Development at IBM/Tivoli's Storage Management Business Unit.

Troy is active in community affairs and volunteerism.  He serves on the Senior Services of Seattle/King County board of directors.  He is also active in fund-raising and volunteer activities for the Seattle Brain Cancer Walk, Swedish Cancer Institute, and Livestrong.  Troy holds a BA in Finance from Seattle University

Mary Oakes

Senior Vice President, Sales and Business Strategy

Mary Oakes brings more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing management, business development, and healthcare to OCS. In her current role, Mary is responsible for leading the sales efforts as well as the development and management of strategic business partnerships.

Prior to joining OCS, Mary spent 18 years at IBM in a variety of sales management, marketing, and business development roles, most recently as the Director of Sales and Business Development for the Biotech Industry Americas. Mary has a degree in Economics from Stanford University with additional studies in the areas of Business Process Re-engineering and Financial Management.

Dmitry Kaplan, Ph.D

Senior Consultant

Dmitry Kaplan has earned his PhD in Electronics / Artificial Intelligence from the University of Washington in 1988.  Since then he has managed his company—Epsilon Consulting—specializing in high-relevancy data discovery and visualization, development of medical diagnostic instrumentation, non-linear signal processing as well as the management of engineering projects.

Some of the more interesting non-medical projects included AI-based automatic web-page text analysis / objectionable content detection, spam detection and blocking, electronic discovery work, cellular phone fraud detection and prevention, etc. His medical electronics experience includes a total of ten years in diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound, design of shock advisory algorithms for portable automatic defibrillators and epileptic seizure prediction.

Deron Ferguson, Ph.D.

Senior Health Data Analyst

Deron Ferguson recently joined Dentra and has academic training economics and geography. He earned his doctorate in Geography from the University of Washington in 2005.  Before joining Dentra, Deron served as a social and health services researcher for four years at the Washington State Office of Financial Management and the Department of Social and Health Services.  In that capacity he produced policy analyses and forecasts for cash assistance programs, contributed to development of DSHS’s mission-essential Client Services Database, and oversaw the Community Outcome and Risk Evaluation Geographic Information System (CORE-GIS) project.
 
In the several years prior to finishing his doctorate, Deron led business development and operations as a principal/co-founder at a Seattle materials engineering R&D firm focused on development of electrically conductive ceramics and materials for electronics manufacturers.

David Weld

Executive Vice President

David delivers a wealth of knowledge and expertise in software, data analytics, and business development. His OCS responsibilities include corporate development, technology and platforms, and products. He also contributes to joint venture management, business development, and sales. David is a member of the Dentra board of directors.
 
David has held executive and senior management roles in technology and business intelligence companies for more than 25 years. He served as the CEO of PivotLink, Inc., a leading Software-as-a-Service business intelligence provider. David also has been involved with several successful early-stage startups, including three as CEO. He spent five years at Microsoft as a group manager and director, where he shipped the first two versions of Windows NT, the first two versions of MSN, and helped launch Slate, the pioneering online magazine, which David named.
 
David has an A.B. in computer science and Russian from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College.

 

Muriel Guilbert

Director of Marketing

A seasoned executive with more than 15 years of international B2B marketing experience, Muriel joined Dentra in November 2009 to drive the company’s overall marketing strategy and implementation. Prior to Dentra, Muriel served as Managing Director, Global Marketing for market research panel company GMI (Global Market Insite, Inc.), where she implemented winning international marketing communications strategies. Before GMI, Muriel worked as Vice President of Marketing for NetReflector, Inc., which she helped reposition as an emerging player in the enterprise feedback management space.

Prior to NetReflector, Muriel served as Account Director for PR and integrated branding firm Parker LePla, working on accounts in healthcare, CRM, telecommunications, e-commerce and outsourcing. Before that, she held several marketing positions in the UK with Central Research Laboratories and Vitalograph, and in Germany with Siemens.

Fluent in English, French and German, Muriel holds a Master’s Degree in International Business Studies from l’Université de la Sorbonne, Paris, France. She is a board member of, and a marketing volunteer for the MIT Enterprise Forum of the Northwest.
